Tattoo Aftercare
Waterproof Bandage care:
Depending on the size and location of your tattoo, a waterproof bandage may be applied to protect your new tattoo. Please let your artist know if you have any allergies to bandaids or adhesive.
Waterproof bandages for tattoos provide protection during the healing process by creating a secure barrier against water, dirt, and bacteria. Designed to stay firmly in place even when exposed to moisture, they help maintain the tattoo’s cleanliness and promote optimal healing. These bandages are breathable, preventing excess moisture buildup while shielding fresh ink from irritation and infection. Waterproof tattoo bandages support faster recovery and preserve the vibrancy of new tattoos.
Please folllow the following directions:
General Use
Waterproof bandage may be worn for 72 hours after the application of your tattoo. Avoid submerging in water or physical activity that may cause excessive sweating during use.
Removal
To remove bandage, wash with warm water to loosen adhesive. Bandage may be uncomfortable to remove. Remove slowly by pulling the bottom corners of the bandage towards the floor. Do not pull against the grain of your skin. Removing in shower with soap and water to avoid harming your tattoo is ideal. Please continue with traditional care until your tattoo is healed.
Residual adhesive on the skin may occur. Do not excessively scrub your healing tattoo- adhesive can be removed around your tattoo with gentle application of coconut or jojoba oil. Wash your tattoo with unscented soap and warm water afterwards to avoid oil residue on your healing tattoo.
Precaution
A small percentage of people are sensitive to the adhesives used on bandages, tape, and surgical dressing. If you notice any sensitivity such as a rash, hives, or blistering around the tattoo while using surgical dressing, discontinue usage immediately and switch to traditional aftercare. The area around the tattoo may take a few days to clear up.
Traditional care:
